One of Our Company Representatives attended the Council site and advised them of the best way forward, with a view to their problem, We set out an operational plan for them to follow which included Our company being solely responsible for the management of the green waste heap. We firstly attended site with a telescopic loader to break their substantial heap apart and to remove any inorganic material including any metals and plastics, the following day we brought to site our high-speed Willibald shredder, this machine is capable of reducing all organic waste down to a small particle sized compost mulch, We processed the whole heap of green waste, which, in turn reduced the size of their pile by two thirds, next came the management side of our plan, a machine operator regularly attended site to turn the compost and to irrigate it when it became too dry.
Several weeks later we attended site with our state of the art McCloskey Trommel Screen, all of the compost was processed within one day, the oversize material was mixed back in with their fresh green waste pile whilst the compost fines were stockpiled to be re-used by the councils gardening staff on the surrounding areas.
We made a vast difference to this councils organic waste stream, helping them to hit their recycling targets whilst supplying them with their own quality product, ensuring that their green waste, which had always been land filled , is now 100% recycled. The financial saving over the course of the last eighteen months for the council has been immense.
